Trek's hub-motor hybrid with a throttle, a different platform from the mid-drive FX+ 7S. The spec table lists the motor only as "Hub drive motor, 60 Nm, 500W" with no maker and without saying nominal or peak; 500W is recorded as nominal, the usual reading of a single US rating. The sensor type comes from the replacement-parts list on the same page, which includes a "Hyena Bottom Bracket Torque Sensor". The spec table says Class 2 with 20 mph max assist, while the summary card for this bike reads "Class 2/3", so the unlock class is left blank. 520Wh integrated removable battery, SR Suntour GVX32 air fork with 63mm travel, 50mm suspension seatpost, Tektro hydraulic brakes on 180mm rotors, MIK-compatible alloy rear rack, SKS fenders, brake and turn-signal taillight, headlight and kickstand included. Weight 55.78 lb for size M; 300 lb total weight limit. Trek publishes no model year; 2026 is the year it was read. A step-through FX+ 2 Midstep and the FX+ 2S sell at the same price.

Safety certification: UL 2849: full system. Trek states: “All e-systems that Trek currently uses have been tested to UL 2849 and EN 15194 as appropriate, and certified to UL 2849” (source). That is the manufacturer’s own claim, not something we verified, you can check a specific model in UL’s Product iQ database. Why this matters.
